REVIEW
My Light by Ani
Bishop is a sweet romance. The first in the No More Secrets Series We meet Ella
and Braden and a few of his friends. These two love birds had the perfect
relationship until he threw it away for a job. Coming back almost a year later
he finds that somethings never change but there are a few surprises along the
way. Even though it was a quick, I read it in a day, read, I wanted more. Not
of their give you a cavity sweet romance but more conflict. I felt that there
was a build up to the major conflict with the criminal D’Angelo that it seemed
to get swept away rather quickly. I will say that I got caught up in their
relationship and loved the banter between them as well as Braden and his
partner Drew. I also would have liked to have gotten to know his friends more
that were listed at the end of the story. His brother Chase was talked about
but I wanted more. Since Ella and Braden had been together for two years prior
to where the story picks up I can only assume she now them. This is a happy ever
after kind of story, the kind that gives you the warm fuzzies and makes you
want to cuddle.
My Light by Ani Bishop is the first in the No More
Secrets series. It’s a short read, but
helps us get the feel for the rest of the series and the characters we will
meet.
I thought the connection between Ella and Braden was
electric and I enjoyed the way Ms. Bishop let us know all their inner feelings.
This was a new way to read a third person narrative for me. The going back and
forth in chapters as if it was a first person read. I thought it was
interesting. The story was sweet, and the characters were fulfilling.
My only issues were that is was too short. There was a
lack of suspense that I think could have been drawn out had the read been
longer. We could have spent more time with the villain and really grown to
despise him. Also, the issues in this book are resolved a little too quickly
for me. Also, we are never introduced to their group of friends (who will
continue the series), and I thought that was a missed opportunity to get to
know them, thus wanting to know their stories.
Regardless, I did enjoy this book very much and look
forward to reading the next in the series. If you love romance, forgiveness and
sweet, this is the book for you.

He’s the one who takes a woman to bed for a single purpose, and that ain’t love. But when he’s saddled with beautiful Amy, something happens to him. She’s a woman whom he’d never think of taking to bed, yet, he can’t come up with anything he’d rather do. The stakes rise, and his will is challenged.
He pisses her off all the time. She tests his nerves at every turn. When her feelings morph into something she swore not to let happen, will she stick through the danger to see the end? Or will they be over before they really begin?
REVIEW
Book two in the No More Secrets series by Ani Bishop has
kicked it up a notch from book one. In the Silence follows two new characters
Amy and Rylee who have met because their best friends are getting engaged.
Working together to plan a surprise party the two are quickly attracted to each
other. Their heads say NO but their hearts and bodies say yes. This time our
sexy scenes are hot and steamy. No fade to black like book one. This time we
get taken along for the ride. Yes, pun intended.
The one thing that had bugged me with book one was the quick
conflict resolution which in book two took longer and was more drawn out which
I preferred way better. This time by pet peeve was the use of “but & “and”
to start sentences. For me that was what pulled me out of the story. Don’t get
me wrong the story was tons of fun. I feel as if I am getting involved with a
new group of friends that would hang out with on the weekends. I still had
questions about a few characters, which I am hoping will get answered in the
books to come.
A fun read that I finished off in a day. Enjoy some
exciting summer reading.
In The Silence by Ani Bishop is the second book in the No
More Secrets series and I LOVED IT! Although I enjoyed My Light, the first
book, it had some flaws. Those flaws have been corrected in the second book.
Amy and Rylee are both complex and enjoyable characters.
Their constant struggles to fight their attraction build wonderful tension, as
does the introduction to a great villain. The suspense is intense, regarding
the villainous conflict and the sexual tension!
Rylee is seemingly simple, but his complexities are
revealed beautifully through the course of the book, as are Amy’s. They are two
similar, yet completely different people who have collided and it’s glorious.
If I have any issues, there is perhaps a little too much
rehashing of how they feel at times, but that is all I have. It is a beautifully
written book that paints a vivid picture and draws the reader in. Ms. Bishop
has an easy style with just enough description to show you a world she has
created that is filled with great characters and a lot of love and romance. I
would definitely recommend this read, and anxiously await the third installment.
PROLOGUE from Book #3
Always You, No More Secrets series
Mike
Mike walked over to where Colin watched his
fiancée by the sidelines. He’d never thought he’d feel as jealous as he did
right now. The emotion was foreign to him when it came to women. It wasn’t as
if he had to think about the life his lovers might have had before he’d come
into the picture. He simply hadn’t cared that much about them.
Bella… she was another story. She’d always been
everything to him. From the first bump in the local coffee shop when he’d been
home from a tour, to the last kiss he’d given her, only a minute ago.
Colin had obviously shared something special
with Bella when they were younger, and he didn't seem to be over it. His Bella
wasn’t an innocent flower, but that did not mean he wanted to meet the guys
she’d been with. Hell no.
Mike stopped beside Colin and turned to see
Bella laughing with her head thrown back. She loved this party. And he loved
her. The whole reason for this surprise was to show how much she meant to him,
and that this was a forever thing between them.
“Whatever your feelings for her
are, forget them.” His lips were drawn into a tense smile.
He sensed more than saw Colin look at him. “Who
are you to tell me what I should do?” Anger and contempt colored his words.
“She’s happy. With me. You will not try and ruin this with your
silly little feelings.” Mike lost the smile. It was hard to pretend everything
was fine. Bella wasn’t looking in their direction, and for that he was
thankful.
“Why are you so sure she’s
happy? I’ve known her my whole life. She may think you’re great for a while.
After that little…infatuation passes, I’ll step in, and you’ll
be nothing to her. Not even worth a damn memory.”
“That’s right. You’ve known her
your whole life. Yet, I’m the one who’s going to marry her. I suggest you stay
the fuck away from my fiancée,” he ground out. Every word that had come from
his mouth had made him angrier. It was all he could do without throwing a
punch.
Mike could see Colin’s jaw work back and forth.
The guy couldn’t see he'd lost something that hadn’t been his to lose. From the
moment she was made, she had been meant for Mike. Colin had just been a
passenger on the road that led her to him.
“Are you threatening a federal
agent?”
Mike grunted. “No. I’m threatening a man stupid
enough to go after another man’s woman. I don’t care who you are, but if you
touch what’s mine, you will regret
it.”
“She was mine to touch first,”
Colin mused. Maybe he wanted that fist after all.
Mike barely held in his rage. Couldn’t he just
admit he’d made a fucking mistake in letting Bella walk away? It was too late
to go back now.
“You said it yourself, was. Past, not present. She’s mine, and
I will beat the shit out of you, just for fun, if you even try to mess with
us.”
Mike turned and walked away before he smashed
his sorry ass right there. It was their engagement party. Bella didn't deserve
for him to make a spectacle.
But, he suspected, they would have to handle
this the old-fashioned way. Soon enough.

in a small town. My life hasn't been easy, but it's been filled with family.
Our house had always been filled with laughter and not one moment of peace
could be found. But, we’ve never been bored.
Reading has never been a chore for me, it's been a great
passion. Writing, however, came afterward. Just a story in my head that needed
to be told, and I wrote the first few words. Ever since I started, there was no
stopping. Every day, every week, I've worked, and written, and had fun. Because
writing is fun, if you love it.
