Title: Burn
Series: Brothers of Ink and Steel
Author: Allie Juliette Mousseau
Genre: New Adult/Sports Romance
Release Date: May 26, 2015
Liam Knight, a sexy panty-melting, hard-bodied streetfighter and renowned tattoo artist, is rising up the ranks of the UFC Middleweight Division, but he’s about to get knocked out by his past.

Quinn Kelley is a semester away from becoming a college graduate when her mother’s death sends her spiraling, forcing her to go back to her hometown and a past she can’t outrun.

Nearly a decade ago, Liam and Quinn fell in love while surviving on the city streets together, but they were torn apart by one irreversible night. Now each has moved forward without the other, but like a tattoo on the heart, absolute love creates a lasting burn.

Quinn has kept a tight rein on her emotions, but with the passing of her mother, the foundation she’s built begins to crack. Will seeing Liam again crumble her fortress to the ground, uncovering the flame that still burns? Or will it extinguish the fire forever?

Liam’s tough exterior and resentful demeanor hides more than a wounded heart. He’s tormented by guilt over what happened to Quinn—and the secret he kept, even from her. But revealing his secrets would require unearthing the all-consuming monster he keeps caged in the darkest part of his soul, the one that threatens to devour him.

When they’re given a second chance, will they let go of their fear and pride and let the flame between them become one?

Or will the heat burn them both?

**Release Blitz** Center Mass by Lani Lynn Vale

Title: Center Mass
Series: Code-11 KPD SWAT #1
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: May 1, 2015
Luke Roberts came to the small lazy town of Kilgore, Texas with one thing on his mind: Forgetting. He wanted to forget why he left. Forget those emerald green eyes that haunted his dreams. And forget how it felt to have his heart ripped out of his chest by a woman who didn’t like the fact that he had a child. It was something he’d been doing a damn fine job of doing, too. Until Reese smashed through every one of his defenses, and made him feel again.

Reese Doherty was just trying to do the best for her little girl. So she moved to the little boomtown nearly an hour from where she grew up to be the school nurse for Kilgore’s littlest people. That’s where she met him. The SWAT officer and the man that would change her life forever. The sexy man who liked to drive fast, and live life like it should be lived. He drove her crazy, and became something she could barely live without.

But Luke was a hero. A man used to risking his life to make the world a safer place. Something Reese had to decide whether she could handle or not. Preferably before her and her daughter became too attached.

Just when she’s ready to give him her whole heart, her world takes a huge hit, and everything she thought she knew wasn’t as it seemed.

Luke wasn’t a quitter, though. Damn far from it, and he’d prove to her that he’d be there when the dust settled. Whether she wanted him to be or not.

***

The next day I found myself at the movie theater with a room full of screaming children excited to see the newest Disney movie.
I wasn’t a fan of animated movies.
I also wasn’t a fan of theaters.
But I’d do just about anything for my daughter, even sit in a theater with kids who wouldn’t shut the fuck up.
Didn’t these parents know how to tell their kids to be quiet?
Surely they wouldn’t let them do that throughout the entire movie…right?
But when thirty minutes went by and the couple in front of us continued to let their kids fight and run around the entire fucking theater, I was about out of tolerance.
I hadn’t realized that anybody could be so rude.
I’d just about made my mind up to say something when a big man, two rows in front of us, stood and walked down the aisle.
He walked calmly up the main row; I thought that he was just going to the restroom, but he stopped on the row that the parents were busy playing on their phones.
Sounds and all.
“’Scuse me,” a familiar voice rumbled.
The cop.
What was his name?  Luke?
Yeah, that was it.  Luke Roberts.
He had to be seeing the movie with his daughter, because why the hell else would a man like him be watching a Disney movie?
“Sir, ma’am.  I’m going to have to ask you to make your children behave, or I’ll have to ask you to leave,” Luke said softly.
I wanted to stand up and applaud.  Would that be rude?
Rowen didn’t even notice, being on the other side of me.  She was enraptured with the fat blobby robot on the screen, not bothered in the least by the kids, nor the man.
Turning my face away from my child, I watched as the asshole father stood up, bowing up his chest.
The man was big, I’ll give him that.  But he wasn’t the same caliber as Luke.
The two were like night and day.
Where Luke was fit, the man was large.  Where Luke was intimidating and authoritative, the man came off as a jerk who used his size to get his way.
A particularly bright part in the movie lit the theater, showing me Luke’s amusement at the man’s show of attempted intimidation.
When the man got up and got face to face with Luke, I turned in my seat more fully to get the full effect, tossing a piece of popcorn into my mouth in excitement.
Now this was what I was talking about.  I was an action kind of girl.  I didn’t like movies where there was nothing exploding and no shirtless guys.
Now the scene in front of me I knew wasn’t going to escalate much past raised voices, but it was better than nothing.
“Listen here, boy. I’ll have you know that I paid for my tickets just like the rest of these folks.  I want to sit here and enjoy the movie,” the man yelled.
“You want to enjoy the movie?  How about you tell those,” he pointed to the kids.  “To sit down.”
The man’s two fighting kids slipped in between the seat and Luke’s legs.
Then Luke lost his patience.  “Sit.”
They followed direction instantly, sitting down and staring at the movie with quivering chins.
It was as if that was the first time they’d ever heard a reprimand before; although, it probably was.
The mother stood in outrage, but Luke’s glare had her quickly sitting down.
Which caused me to snicker, making Luke’s eyes turn toward me.
His glare showed me he wasn’t as amused as I was, but he winked at me, eyes flicking down to Rowen before he turned back to the man in front of him.
Who was absolutely livid.
“I’m going to call the cops on you,” the man snarled.
Luke’s lips tilted up into a slow grin.  “Go on, make my day.”
Turns out that the man didn’t have to, because in the next moment the show was stopped, the lights turned on, and two cops came striding down the theater’s main aisle.
They were in uniform.
Just not the standard black uniform with yellow writing that most cops wore.  These men wore black cargo-type pants, a black shirt with KPD on it in large yellow letters.
Large gun belts were strapped around their waists.  They had a walkie talkie that was strapped on to the belt that had a wire connected to a hand held device that clipped to their shoulders.
Their badges, worn around their necks, were big, gold, and shiny.
The taller of the two was a red head.
Big and brawny.
I bet he could pull off a kilt very nicely.  I could visualize him perfectly playing a bag pipe and his kilt floating up to reveal his nicely muscled ass.
He had a beard, as did the other man.  Must be a thing, because now that I thought about it, Luke did, too.
The other man was Mexican American.  He was tall, but only about six foot or so.  His eyes were dark, taking in the theater in a quick efficient way that only someone that was experienced would.
I’d found that since I’d started being in the presence of my sister’s boyfriend’s motorcycle club, The Dixie Wardens, that all of those men took in a room much the same way.
Most of them had military backgrounds, and quite a few were cops.  There was just a certain aura about them that fairly screamed ‘Cop!’
They passed my row, both of them looking at me before dismissing me completely, eyes on the scene in front of us.
“Well, the police are here,” Luke drawled.  “What now?”
By now the man had the attention of the entire theater, instead of the back four rows, and you could tell he was losing steam.
He knew he was in the wrong.
“It’s time to go, woman.  We’re getting our money back for this shit.  Fucking cocksuckers,” the man growled, grabbing his wife’s arm and forcing her to stand.
The kids followed nicely, slipping out of the theater as quickly as they could manage.
“Downy, follow them to make sure they actually leave without causing any more trouble,” Luke sighed.
I blinked in surprise.
“What an asshole.  He ruined my movie,” Rowen exclaimed, drawing the attention of Luke and the other officer.
My eyes closed, and my face heated.  “Goddamn Tru.  I’m going to kick her ass.”
I said it softly, but when I opened my eyes, I realized that both men had heard, somehow.
What, did they have super hearing as well?
Luke smiled.
Busted!

Blurb

“She healed me. She broke me. I set her free. But we are in this together. We will end this together. The rules of this ancient game can’t be broken.”

Nila Weaver no longer recognises herself. She’s left her lover, her courage, and her promise. Two debts down. Too many to go.

Jethro Hawk no longer recognises himself. He’s embraced what he always ran from, and now faces punishment far greater than he feared.

It’s almost time. It’s demanding to be paid.

The Third Debt will be the ultimate test...

5 Stars

Oh my flippin God! What did I just read?  Holy crap!  No words for that ending.  This series is amazing.  Pepper Winters is great at writing this dark series.  This isn't your butterflies and rainbows romance.  This is dark and filled with lies, shame, and other horrible things.

Nila was rescued at the end of Second Debt.  She wants to go back though.  She actually loves Jethro and knows he will be killed if he can't finish collecting the debts from her.

"If only love was enough, I could be free.  Jethro could be free.  It could all be over if only love was stronger than debts."

When Nila gets back, Jethro is different.  Something has changed and not for the better either.  Well, not better for Nila, but it was better for Cut.

Nila has to bring him back to her.  But will it break them both or get them killed?  If this doesn't break them, the third debt just may.

The third debt collection does happen.  I think it's the worst one yet.  I won't say what I t is because I'm not giving anything away.

"It broke me.
 It fixed me.
 It stole.  It gifted.
 Devastating.
 Rewarding.
 Destroying.
 Renewing."

That pretty much sums everything up.

This does end in a major "what the hell did I just read?" cliff hanger.  Be prepared.   I need Fourth Debt now!

HOW HAD THIS happened?

Where did it all go so wrong?

Jethro was supposed to love me. I was supposed to love him.

Yet he’d given me over to his family. He’d bound the ropes, blindfolded my eyes, and gifted me to his kin.

“Know what time it is, Nila Weaver?” Daniel breathed in my ear.

I jerked away. The restraints around my body meant I couldn’t run, couldn’t fight; I couldn’t even see.

Oh, God.

Please don’t let them do this.

I wanted to scream for Jethro to save me. I wanted him to put an end to this and claim me once and for all. Didn’t our connection mean anything?

You know it’s all different now.

Ever since I’d returned to Hawksridge Hall, things had been different—horribly, horribly different.
The fire crackled in the billiards room where the Hawk men had been playing poker. The air was hot and muggy and laced with cognac fumes.

Tonight, I’d had plans to end whatever changed between Jethro and me forever.

But now…those plans had changed.

Kestrel ran his fingers over my collar. “Relax, little Weaver. It will all be over soon.”

Cut chuckled. “Yes, soon you can go to sleep and pretend none of this happened.”

My ears strained for one other voice. The voice of the man who controlled my heart even though he’d thrown it back in my face.

But only silence greeted me.

Daniel snickered, licking my cheek. “Time to pay, Weaver.”

Someone clapped and in a voice full of darkness and doom said, “It’s time for the Third Debt.”

I shook my head, my heart smarting with pain. “What happened to you?” I reached for him, wanting to clutch his forearm and reassure myself that our bond was still there.

With a sneer, he sidestepped, staying out of reach. “What happened to me?” Smiling coldly, he made me seem as if I were some idiot child asking for the universe’s secrets. “I got better. That’s what happened to me.”

“I don’t—I don’t understand. You weren’t ill.”

“You wouldn’t understand. No one can understand another’s problems. All you need to know is that I’m cured and I won’t make the same mistakes again.”

I took a step back, goosebumps scattering over my body. “Don’t say that. I’m in love with you. Something like that cannot be undone—”

“Love is a chemical imbalance, Ms. Weaver. I am no longer imbalanced.” He came closer. “Don’t get cold feet on your invitation. You promised you would come, and you don’t want to give me a reason to punish you so soon…do you?”

My skin pinpricked with panic. That sentence should’ve dripped with eroticism. But it wasn’t. It was cold…lifeless…like him.

Snapping his fingers, Jethro held out his hand. He kept his digits curled slightly so I couldn’t see the tattoo marks on the tips. “Come. I want to be back at Hawksridge before sunrise.”

Nila dropped the jumper onto the desk, cupping her breasts. “Does this count as acceptable to you?”

I couldn’t breathe.

Everything I’d been running from made my head pound, my cock beg, and the drugs in my system to fucking disintegrate.

What was it about her? Why did she have this control over me? And why was I utterly, ridiculously helpless around her?

God fucking help me.

Didn’t she know the more she antagonised me and made me slip, the more likely Cut would give her to Daniel and fucking slaughter me in my sleep? I wanted to strike her—hammer the precariousness of our situation home.

“Why did you bring me here?” she murmured, skirting the desk.

I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the hard pinpricks on her chest. She couldn’t be cold—not in this furnace. That meant she was turned on.

My mind instantly went to one question. Is she wet?

“Kes told you. Our secrets are now yours.”

“I don’t think that’s the only reason.” Closing the distance, she licked her bottom lip. “I think you wanted me off the estate, so you could have me without anyone seeing.” Her voice layered with sex and invitation. “You wanted me away from the cameras, so you could drop the act and show me the truth.”

Fuck.

I cleared my throat. “What truth?”

“That all of this is a lie. That you’re still the man I fell for—playing the same game you said you were sick of before I left.”

Shaking my head, I tried to clear my thoughts. “You’re once again delusional.” Swallowing hard, I ordered, “Go down to the sorting floor. I have a meeting to take care of—”

“No,” she breathed. “I’m not going anywhere until you stop being an asshole and show me the real you.” Closing the final distance, she stood beside me, crackling with mischief and lust.

Locking eyes, she undid the button and zipper of her jeans. “Don’t hide from me, Jethro. I can’t stay strong if you cut me out.”

My legs bunched to push the swivel chair backward. One heave and I could launch myself free and run from her web. But somehow, I couldn’t. I remained tethered in place; breathing fast, fear swamping my lungs.

She grabbed my wrist. “Don’t fight it. You can’t fight the inevitable.” Without a word, she pressed my hand into her trousers.
