You’re not supposed to want the one who torments you.
When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be.
I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.
I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.
At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then, things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.
Just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California.
It had been years since I’d seen Elec.
When tragedy struck our family, I’d have to face him again.
And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane.
I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again.
Stepbrother Dearest is a standalone novel.

Stepbrother Dearest, is a complicated
taboo romance by Penelope Ward. I was skeptical about this book, I’ve seen it plastered
all over social media and I honestly didn’t think it was something I would like…
I was wrong. I really enjoyed this story and will be looking for more like it.
Greta and Elec relationship was rocky
and angsty. To be honest I loved the portrayal of them in their teenage years. I will admit that
a lot of the stuff happening was a bit outlandish, but still the story had
great moments. When we fast forward to their adult years the characters had
grown and still felt true to who they were originally only more mature. I will
admit to moments of tears in this story and heartbreak, mostly for Greta. I truly
enjoyed this story, and look forward to reading more from Ward. I would
definitely recommend this book to just about any kind of reader. The only thing
that made this a four star for me, was towards the end, the story felt a bit repetitive
as we dove into Elec’s perspective. Don’t get me wrong I loved reading his side
of the past events, and especially touching on his emotions, I just wished they
had unfolded a little differently. Still, all in all it was a great read.
