Looking for a fun,
quick read then check out Kapow: Bad Girl edition. Seven authors, seven shorts.
I enjoyed these kick ass ladies and the stories they had to tell. I would call
them villains with a cause. They had good reasons on why they were “bad” and
what or who they were trying to help, just their methods of handling business
is not per the norm. Who of us hasn’t wanted to kill a guy that is being
abusive towards women? That’s just one of the stories. A few are from another
realm all together. I would love to see Vibora by Jude Johnson as a comic book
or illustrations. Her character made me think of Poison Ivy from Batman, like
those two characters would get along and wreak havoc together. I think it would
be fun to watch it play out. Landa Landa, though I understood what and why she
was acting out, with Ebola being so current this story was way too real for me.
She was a bad girl that I wanted to beat down. All stories a full of detail and
help the reader to see the story unfold in front of them. I enjoyed that they
were not your everyday happy ending, life is full of sunshine and rainbows kind
of stories. Everyone has a little darkness in our lives we just don’t act on
them. These ladies do. I liked that they were shorts instead of full novels.
Just getting a glimpse into their lives was fun and I didn’t miss or need to
know why they were the way they were I just accepted them for what I was given.

Kapow Good Girls
edition is the follow up to the Bad girls. I was expecting or hoping for new
stories and characters in these seven shorts but instead was given the flip
side to the seven bad girls. Now, these stories are well written, full of
detail just as the others were I was disappointed because I didn’t really need
or want to know the other side. A few of them had scenes that were copied and
pasted from bad to good making me feel like I had read it already which in many
cases I had. The only flip one I did enjoy was Diamante who is linked to
Vibola. Vibola is still pretty bad ass and I rooted for her until the end.
Landa Landa felt like the author was trying too hard to make a good girl out of
the other female in the story. The bad girl had done what she did for a good
reason just went about executing it in a foul way. Her good girl friend
storyline I felt was unnecessary. For me Good Girl was not my cup of tea. I had
liked their kick ass bad side and didn’t need the flip story. It may not have
been for me but I think there are many others that will enjoy the read.

Thank you for your reviews. So glad you enjoyed the stories, and especially Vibora and Diamante. Don't we all enjoy the baddies getting away with what we WISH we could, even for just a little bit? That might be why the Bad Girls appeal to our devilish sides. Still, Good needs to triumph over Evil - the question is at what cost?
