Dragon's Heart (Book One)

Serena Harlowe always knew her place.

A foundling placed with the tutor of Illedrian royalty, she grew to be a talented fighter. After rising to the rank of lieutenant in the royal army, she proves her worth and thwarts the attempted assassination of the man she loves.

The selfless act will change her life forever and start a chain of events that will unlock her hidden past.

Dragon’s Heart, written by Michelle Rabe, is a fantasy romance novel in third person POV.

It’s about a human prince who fell in love with a commoner, but as it always is with royals, marrying the person you love is out of the picture. Dealing with a forced marriage, the return of the Dark Fey, learning surprising secrets about the woman you love, and ruling a country is just a normal day for Killian.

Her beloved’s arranged marriage, learning about her past, and saving her people is what Serena now has to deal with. Add court gossip on both sides and you have the basics of this book.

I love how both Serena  and Killian never give up on each other. When Killian is going through a rough time, then Serena helps him. And vice versa. Also, they don't put up with people when they are jerks. Especially Serena. She isn't afraid to embarrass a noble in front of the whole court. They are just amazing characters who deserve their happily ever after. I truly hope they get it.

Dragon's Soul (Book 2)

Crown Prince Killian Rhys's life has been defined by duty for as long as he can recall.
Duty ties him to a wife he does not love.

Duty separates him from the woman he loves, a woman once believed to be beneath him.
Duty holds him to the people he will one day rule.

Can Killian break free of duty's chains before his wife binds him with more than vows?

Will he find a path to his true love, or will duty wrap him in inescapable shackles?

Dragon’s Soul is the second installment of the Dragon Fey Saga. It continues the story of how Sereena and Killian must try to balance ruling their people and keeping up with their duties, and their love for each other.

There is also a fair amount of drama with Killian’s wife from the arranged marriage. I really liked how the characters refuse to give up. Even though Killian’s wife is trying to push them apart, and Sereena doesn't know anything about how to rule her people, she just pushes through and isn't afraid to admit it when she needs help. I admire her persistence. She knows what she wants, she knows what she has to do, and the finds the compromise that works best for everyone.

Killian, however, is willing to pause a war if Sereena asks for him. He is super devoted to her, almost more so than to his country. It's easy to see how much they love each other. And there are a few parts that are just like a welcome relief from the stress of their life as royals. Like when they meet at their cabin in the woods and are able to just relax with each other. It's the little moments sometimes, that bring you the most happiness.

A lifelong California girl, Michelle Rabe tried the Hollywood thing but decided she preferred an author's den to the actor's trailer. She now lives in the Phoenix Arizona area with her unhelpful author cat. If you can't find her in a cemetery with her camera you can find her online at:
