Review: Cold by Sha Jones

 Synopsis

Lies and betrayal is definitely an understatement when it comes to the life of prosecutor Tiffany Moore. Weird things have been happening to her for the past few weeks and no one can help her, not even her cool, calm and collective defense attorney husband Michael Moore. The stranger things become, the more Tiffany finds herself falling into depression. She confides in her friends, hoping that they can give her the answers that she needs. With each horrific experience after another, Tiffany finally puts all the clues together and come to a shocking revelation. Not only is something wrong but something is disturbingly wrong with her husband. She then comes to the conclusion that something might not be right in her circle as well. When everything is revealed, the game is now over and Tiffany realizes that she is in serious danger and her life is at risk. The only two options that she is faced with is losing her freedom or losing her life.

Cold by Sha Jones proves the theory, keep your enemies close and your friends closer, in the thrilling mystery. This first person narrative is about lawyer Tiffany Moore and her struggles with who is out to get her and is her husband truly cheating on her. Tiffany gives the reader a colorful glance into her daily city life.  Daily she is getting calls from a private caller who breaths and hangs up. After being advised by her best guy friend, Carl, she purchases a new phone and the calls continue. As if that isn’t problematic enough, she tells her co-worker, whom she thinks is sleeping with her husband, to stop calling turns up dead two days later. Feeling even more panicked with police snooping around her life, Tiffany decides to dig up some info on her own.  When she meets a man at a club who ends up being the doctor who tried to save her co-workers life, life starts to unravel even quicker. What she uncovers is more than what she wanted to find out.

I enjoyed the twist of an ending that came with story. Made me think that it could be a story line in Orange is the New Black. Sha Jones drew me in from the very beginning and held me to the very end. The first time that she started swearing I was taken aback but it fits her character and truly what woman hasn’t wanted to tell her husband “F you!” when he has truly pissed her off. It was a fun fast read and keeps you guessing the whole way through.
